Generation X is widely defined as those born between 1961 and 1981. Current research
from the National Association of Homebuilders indicates that 37 percent of Generation X
intends to buy homes in the next two years, compared to just 13 percent of baby boomers
and 6 percent of seniors. Many opportunities exist for real estate agents and Realtors who
would like to target Gen X. In this class we will understand how to better serve the needs
of this new generation of home buyers AND home sellers.
True or False?
-
Slacker Gen
Xers live with their parents longer and therefore are
not
buying homes at the same age as their boomer parents.
-
Cynical Gen Xers can’t be influenced much
by traditional real estate
marketing efforts.
-
The major motivating factor for Gen X
homebuyers is building wealth
with home equity.
-
Pragmatic, disbelieving Gen Xers value detailed, written marketing
communications.
