Web 2.0 and Business 2.0 are used to describe new virtual business environments and tools on the web allowing companies and consumers to share information seamlessly in real time anywhere at any moment.

Today's real estate industry faces a changing landscape. A new consumer with different expectations and the use  of technology are rewriting the roles of brokers and agents. Competition is increasing, creating pressure on commissions. Alternative business models are emerging that are challenging the traditional method of delivering services.  The next few years are very likely to see continued experimentation with new business models. Although traditional brokerage is expected to remain the dominant model for the immediate future, it is likely to co-exist with many other types of models, as well as gradually morph into a new definition of "traditional."

We are in transition from traditional business models to a marketplace that has a large variety of models: everything from low to medium to high cost models and from low, to medium to high service models. Are we are seeing a shift to a multiple business model industry rather than a revolution to a single new business concept? If so, what's the logic and strategy behind your individual agent business model?

In this four-hour course we will
help agents understand what’s driving the evolution of new business models, how their own business model fits into the larger real estate business landscape, how to understand your competition, and how to implement changes within your own business.

End of course evaluations:

"Informative, stimulating; prompted some soul searching and a little fear regarding...."can I compete?!?"

"The presentation of material was fun and enjoyable. Involving the class to this degree was great."

"Great to hear different agent's ideas and opinions about agent/broker/consumer perspective of the ideal real estate agent."

"This class piqued my interest in 2.0 applications to see if they can enhance and fit into my business model."

"Very informative and fun. People from all over and from different companies made it interesting."

"Dynamic and interesting. Gets you thinking about how similar we all are and how we need to change to meet new technology."

"Opened my eyes to traditional agents and their lack of interest in newer technologies."

"Great experience, great instructor."

"I learned that there is a lot I need to learn. I do not know anything about the 2.0 Web applications and that being ignorant is not a good excuse. This was an awakening."

"I experienced a very open environment discussing ideas and opinions about today's business issues.  I've learned that I need to adopt a new technology or two to develop new business in 2007."

"Thanks for yet another fast-paced activity filled class. You make me think---------about current models and how I might appropriate some ideas, compete, or talk about why I am different."

"Instructor was informative, high energy, evocative, challenging, knowledgeable. Class was informative, interactive, substantive."

"My experience today opens the doors of perception as to how I can begin thinking in a new integrated means to expand and grow my business."

"This class woke me up as to what I can do with my real estate career. Thank you."

"A TON of information and new ideas. The trick for me will be what to implement, how much, and how fast! Thank you!"
